On May 21, it's time to strike for climate action.

The Student Strike 4 Climate group are doing some amazing organising for this national event to demand that Australian government #FundOurFutureNotGas and take action on climate change.

They have Not Business As Usual on board, who already have over 250 businesses and organisations pledging support and standing with them.

“While the rest of the world is using the coronavirus economic recovery as an opportunity to build a better future, Australia is doubling down on its business as usual agenda: fossil fuels. So on May 21st, we will not be doing business as usual.”

Fridays for the Future, a collective of families in Alice Springs concerned about the impacts that climate change will have on children’s future here and beyond, are coordinating the local action.

RSVP to join the rally at 3:30 pm, Friday May 21.

Instead of taking climate action seriously, the NT and Federal Government continues to promote its proposed ‘gas-led recovery’ and provide massive subsidies to polluting industries. Over the last 6 years the NT Government has spent $137 millions dollars to support the mining of fossil gas.

Moreover, our recent review into the implementation of the 135 recommendations of the Fracking Inquiry found the NT Government has failed to implement a swathe of critical measures, eroding any trust in this government's ability to safely manage and regulate this dangerous industry.

So join us on May 21, to call on the Government to invest in renewable energy and First Nations solutions that care for country, not dirty gas projects.

A persistent voice calling for the climate justice is essential.
