Central Australian Frack Free Alliance (CAFFA) is a grassroots movement with the goal to protect our water, health, community and country by opposing unconventional gas extraction in the NT.
It is going to be a busy year ahead. The government is trying to speed up fracking in the Beetaloo basin by throwing tax payers dollars around, and a proposed pipeline from Mereenie west of Ntaria/Hermansburg down to the Moomba in South Australia opening up the possibility of gas expansion closer to home, including the possibility of dangerous coal seam gas fracking.
The transition away from fossil fuels is more urgent than ever. CAFFA is looking for new members to join the local campaign against fracking and would love you to join them.
Members’ involvement ranges from attending fortnightly meetings, organising events and actions and having a say in our strategy to doing the odd letterbox drop. we appreciate any time you can give.
If you’re interested in participating have any questions or would like to join our mailing list to hear about demonstrations, discussions and other events please contact [email protected] or 0491 283 520.
CAFFA are planning on having an introductory picnic meeting for people interested in joining in coming weeks.
