The ALEC team has been invited to join a delegation of conservation, First Nations, and environmental organisations to travel to Canberra in March 2026 to meet with federal ministers to share concerns about the spread of buffel grass. ALEC has been a strong advocate of declaring buffel grass a weed nationally, and is proud to be the only conservation organisation on the National Established Weed Priorities (NEWP). 

Your donations will directly fund travel costs for the ALEC delegation to travel to Canberra to help advocate for buffel grass to be declared a weed nationally, which will allow for a targeted, national response to this invasive threat to our arid lands.
