ALEC will be hosting an information and letter writing night on the framework for a SREBA in the Beetaloo basin - an area already experiencing gas fracking.

A SREBA is a Strategic Regional Environmental and Baseline Assessment that informs decisions about the future of fracking in the Northern Territory.

A consultation framework has been released which outlines how the NTG intend to undertake this research.

This consultation is an important opportunity to ensure that the baseline information is reliable, valid, independently verified and representative. The strength of the regulatory framework in the NT and environmental assessment process depends on the quality of these studies.

With the Alice Springs Environmental Letter Writing Group, we will read through the framework and work on a response. All welcome!
