School Strike For Climate Friday November 30th

Join other students and young people for the national school walk out in protest of our politicians' inaction on climate change this Friday, November 30th!

Where and When?
8:30am Uniting Church Lawns at 50 Todd St, Mparntwe/Alice Springs

Why are we striking?
Climate change is one of the biggest problems facing the world but isn’t being addressed quickly enough.

In Australia, education is viewed as immensely important, and a key way to make a difference in the world. But simply going to school isn’t doing anything about climate change. And it doesn’t seem that our politicians are doing anything,or at least not enough, about climate change either.

So, as our contribution to the changes we want to see, we are striking from school. We are temporarily sacrificing our education in order to save our futures from climate change.

If you are a kid and keen to join the strike, get in touch via our website here. If you’re an adult, come along and support us on November 30 and tell every parent and kid you know about what we are doing by sharing our website:

This event is supported by the Australian Youth Climate Coalition Alice Springs Branch. Keep up to date on their Facebook Page

We acknowledge that we will be meeting and standing up for climate justice on the lands of the Arrernte people and pay our respects to their elders, past, present and emerging.
