desertSMART EcoFair is in its ninth year and is organised by the Arid Lands Environment Centre, as part of National Science Week. desertSMART EcoFair aims to educate, inspire and activate the community around science and sustainability issues. 

Please join us for Garden to Plate on Saturday 12th August.

Garden to Plate comprises of 3 components that focus on gardening, food, food energy and nutrition with:

2pm - 4pm Green Thumbs with Costa Georgiadis (Gardening Australia) – workshop about the science of gardening

4pm - 4.45pm Food Waste to Energy – key presentation on biogas by Professor Bernadette McCabe (National Centre for Engineering in Agriculture)

4.45pm - 6.30pm Bush Wok Cook Off – incorporating bush foods with Rayleen Brown (Kungka’s Can Cook) and Alice Springs nutritionist Roy Price.

6.30pm - 7pm Music with Miles Jennings
