Community Tree Planting Event at Westside Community Garden

Join Compassionate Connections, Olive Pink, Westside Community Gardens, & ALEC for a Community Tree Planting Workshop! 🌱

Come along for a practical and inspiring day of learning, connection and community as we explore how planting trees can help create cooler, greener and more resilient neighbourhoods.

The day will begin with a welcome tea and chance to connect, followed by presentations on the importance of urban greening and local environmental action, including a short talk from ALEC. We’ll then hear from Olive Pink Botanical Garden, who will share practical advice and hands-on knowledge about planting and caring for trees in Central Australia.

Harpreet Singh Khalsa is a motivational speaker who researches the timeless wisdom of Gurbani to inspire individuals to live with greater balance, purpose and harmony with nature.

Doug McDougall works at the Olive Pink Botanic Gardens and has a wealth of knowledge in how to care for trees.

After a shared lunch, we’ll wrap up the day with everyone taking home a tree to plant in their own garden, helping grow a greener community, one tree at a time.
