Climate & Gas Lecture Series: New Threats - Beetaloo & Barossa

Join ALEC and friends for this monthly lecture series on Climate Change in Central Australia. The series will start with the local projected impacts of climate change here in Central Australia, take a deep dive on the big new fossil fuel projects that our are biggest contribution to global warming, the politics driving them, potential intervention points and end with what a just transition to a decarbonised economy looks like in the NT.

This month we dive into gas expansion in the NT and look at the big new fossil fuel projects that would cause the NT's contribution to global warming to grow exponnetionally - The Beetaloo Basin (Barkly/Roper Gulf region), Barossa offshore gasfield (Tiwi Islands) and Middle arm gas fired petrochemical and LNG plant (Darwin Harbour). What are they, who are the companies involved and where are the campaigns to stop them at.
