60,000 Artists Climate Change Exhibition

The Arid Lands Environment Centre (ALEC) and Watch This Space (WTS) are joining forces to present a collaborative exhibition “60,000 Artists” for World Environment Day 2017.

This article suggests that artists are an integral component of communicating the implications of climate change more effectively to the broader community.

The Arid Lands Environment Centre and Watch This Space (WTS) are valued long-standing local community organisations. All proceeds from sales of artworks and the fundraising event will be split to support the work of both organisations.

The Arid Lands Environment Centre (ALEC) is Central Australia’s community environment organisation. For more than 36 years, ALEC has been a strong and trusted voice for the conservation and responsible management of the land, water and natural resources of Central Australia.

As the only contemporary experimental art space in Central Australia, Watch This Space has played a critical role in the creative ecology of Alice Springs for the past 24 years. It supports local, national and international artists, both emerging and established.
