Landfill tours

Teachers can arrange a ‘behind-the-scenes’ tour of the Regional Waste Management Facility with the Alice Springs Town Council Environment Officer to gain, first hand, a deeper understanding and appreciation for local waste management and recycling services. An excursion guide to the Regional Waste Management Facility provides activities and lesson plans for before, during, and after your visit to the landfill. This booklet is linked to the Australian National Curriculum Framework science and geography course work in Years 4-8. And can be accessed online.
